Course Information

Instructional Methods
Instructional Methods identify the various online delivery formats used for courses, including synchronous, asynchronous, and blended online learning structures.
Synchronous: Instruction takes place in real time on scheduled days and times. Students and instructors participate at the same time, either in person or online.
Asynchronous: Instruction does not require students and instructors to participate at the same time. Students complete coursework online according to established deadlines.
The Method column in the course listings identifies how each course is delivered. Each course is assigned one of the following instructional method codes:
- HYBRE – Combination of in-person in classroom and online synchronous instruction
- REMOTE – Synchronous instruction completely online
- ONLINE – Asynchronous instruction completely online
- HYFLX – Tri-modal instruction, meaning simultaneous in-person in classroom, online synchronous, and online asynchronous
