Common Data Set (CDS)

The Common Data Set (CDS) initiative is a collaborative effort among data providers in the higher education setting.  Our office's goal by completing the CDS annually is to provide clear, relevant, standard data items with clear definitions.

Great Colleges to Work For Survey

SUNY Cobleskill participates in this employee satisfaction benchmarking survey annually.  The survey is sponsored by the Chronicle of Higher Education and is administered by ModernThink, a third party research firm. Results can be found here for the Campus Community.

IPEDS

The Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS) is the core postsecondary education data collection program for the National Center for Education Statistics. IPEDS collects data on enrollment, program completions, faculty and staff, graduation rates, financial aid, and finances from all postsecondary institutions that receive Title IV funding.

Non-Credit Instructional Activities (NCIA)

The Non-Credit Instructional Activities (NCIA) survey reports formally organized and scheduled non-credit activities which are instructional in nature and require participant registration. Our school's numbers are reported to SUNY Administration, who compares this data with other SUNY campuses. Appropriate non-credit instructional activities to include are: vocational and professional training, community service, business and industry training, self improvement, and personal enrichment. This includes both classroom and online activities, held both on campus and in off-campus locations.

National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE)

The NSSE survey provides data to higher education institutions to assess and improve their undergraduate education. In 2013, more than 500 US college and universities participated. The survey is sent to first-year and senior-year students in bachelor's degree programs. SUNY Cobleskill most recently participated in the Spring 2014 semester. Summaries of the college's results from previous years can be seen below.

SUNY Student Opinion Survey

This survey is administered across the State University of New York system every three years. It uses a random sample of students and takes about 20 minutes to complete. The survey assesses students' satisfaction with their college experience.
