Annual Philadelphia Community Service Trip

Each spring break, students from SUNY Cobleskill have the opportunity to participate in our Annual Philadelphia Community Service Trip—a transformative experience focused on giving back, learning, and cultural exploration. This initiative, organized by the Unity Center, brings together students committed to making a positive impact in the lives of others. During the trip, participants collaborate with various non-profit organizations across the city, engaging in service projects that support food-insecure families, assist small businesses helping the homeless, and contribute to local community development.

In addition to the service work, students have the chance to explore the rich history and culture of Philadelphia through guided sightseeing tours of iconic landmarks, including the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall. This balance of service and cultural engagement allows students to broaden their perspectives while fostering a deeper connection to the community.

The Annual Philadelphia Community Service Trip not only enhances our students’ sense of civic responsibility but also builds lasting bonds through shared experiences. Whether distributing food, organizing clothing drives, or participating in neighborhood clean-ups, each activity leaves a meaningful mark on both our students and the communities we serve.

Join us this spring break as we continue our tradition of service, learning, and connection in the vibrant city of Philadelphia!

All student travel, meals, and accommodations will be provided. In return, students will volunteer 35-40 hours of service that week.
