The SUNY Cobleskill Writers Group was formed in January 2021 as a forum for students to collectively write for pleasure about topics of personal interest, collaborate with and support each other, and strengthen their writing skills outside of the classroom.

All SUNY Cobleskill students (all majors and all level writers) are welcome to join the Writers Group.  All that is needed is a desire for self-exploration and expressing yourself. Writing can empower you both personally and professionally, and it can be a means to understanding yourself and the world.

In 2020, SUNY Cobleskill was the recipient of a Cornelia T. Bailey Foundation – New ERA Women Writers Program Grant which funded a guest author speaker series during the spring and fall 2021 semesters, and helped launch the Writers Group and the Tigerlily journal.
