If you wish to withdraw from a course, you may do so through your Banner Web account without seeking signatures/permission from your instructor(s) and advisor. Please refer to the chart on the 'Dates and Deadlines' link on the Registrar's Office webpage to determine the last day to withdraw from a course. Withdrawal dates differ depending on the length of the course and part of term.
Course withdrawal is like dropping a course during the add/drop period, instead of selecting “Web Drop” you select “Web Withdrawal”. Please be very careful about withdrawing from a course through your Banner Web account as you cannot “undo” and add courses back to your schedule. Withdrawing may have an impact on your financial aid. If you have any concerns regarding your financial aid, please contact the Financial Aid Office (firstname.lastname@example.org) before you withdraw from a course.
To protect you, we have set up banner web to prevent you from withdrawing from all your courses. Withdrawal from all courses is a College Withdrawal and requires additional steps to end your relationship with the college. If you wish to withdraw from all of your courses, please see section on withdrawing from college below.
If you have any issues with this process, please email the Registrar’s Office and we will assist you.
Students may withdraw from the College without academic penalty on or before the last day of class. Students are considered officially withdrawn when they complete the withdrawal process designated by the Registrar. Students who fail to complete the process are liable for academic penalty.
It is the students' responsibility to comply with and complete the college withdrawal process. As per academic policy 4.20 Official Withdrawal From College of the Academic Policies:
Students may withdraw from the College without academic penalty on or before the last day of class. Students are considered officially withdrawn when they complete the withdrawal process designated by the Registrar. Students who fail to complete the process are liable for academic penalty and their grades will be recorded.
Those students who do not complete the withdrawal process will fall in the category of "unofficial withdrawal" as per section 4.23 Leaving College: Unofficial Withdrawal of the Academic Policies:
Students who leave College without officially withdrawing are considered enrolled students and their grades will be recorded. The Vice President for Academic Affairs may waive this regulation, when circumstances warrant.
If you wish to withdraw from college completely, please stop into the Registrar's Office to obtain a college withdrawal form. If you have already left campus and are unable to return, please email email@example.com with your name, student ID number, and a message indicating you are withdrawing from college. We will process the college withdrawal on your behalf.
