Medical Services:

• Treatment provided by Physician Assistants, Registered Nurses, and Licensed Practical Nurse.
• Assessment, diagnosis and treatment of illnesses and injuries.
• Immunizations
• HIV testing
• Sexually transmitted disease testing and treatment
• Contraceptive services
• Provision of annual gynecological examinations
• Treatment of strains and sprains
• Treatment of common illnesses such as cold and flu
• Healthy life style counseling
• Individual smoking cessation
• General physical examinations
• Alcohol/Drug assessments, consultations and referrals
• Treatment of mental health issues such as depression and anxiety

Mental Health Services:

• Assessment, diagnosis and treatment of psychological illnesses.
• Short term counseling by Licensed Mental Health Counselor

  • Relationship concerns

Health Education Services:

• Promotion of healthy behaviors in order to improve the quality of life and promote academic success.
• Education on appropriate access to and utilization of physical and mental health care resources.
• Prevention of the spread of communicable diseases.
• Training for faculty, staff and student para-professionals on student health and development topics.

• BetterMynd

  • The Wellness Center at SUNY Cobleskill offers vital mental health services through a partnership with BetterMynd, providing students with free online therapy sessions conducted by licensed counselors. This initiative aims to break down barriers to accessing mental health support by offering discreet and flexible teletherapy options, available during traditional hours, evenings, weekends, and school breaks. In addition to individual counseling, the partnership includes live psychoeducational workshops on various mental health topics, empowering students with knowledge and resources. • Tele-psychiatry

  • SUNY Upstate Medical University Department of Psychiatry can provide remote tele-psychiatry and tele-counseling to currently enrolled SUNY Cobleskill students. Tele-psychiatry and Tele-counseling sessions will be conducted at the Beard Wellness Center, free of charge, linking to SUNY Upstate clinicians using a secure audio/video program. These scheduled sessions offer the same service, just as if you were in the office of the SUNY Upstate provider.

• Schoharie County Chemical Dependency Clinic (SCCDC)
  •  The SCCDC provides a satalite clinic at the Beard Wellness Center.  During specific hours, students can receive alcohol and other drug assessments and treatment.  For questions regarding this service contact SCCDC (518) 295-2031 or call the Beard Wellness Center.
